Brief Bio: |
| I have been an occupational therapist for 12 years. I received my Master¿s of occupational therapy from Ohio State University in 2011, and received my post-professional occupational therapy Doctorate from Boston University in 2022. I have spent the majority of my career in pediatrics in outpatient occupational therapy and as a school-based OT working with students from preschool through 12th grade. I have also had experience in skilled nursing facilities, acute care, and neuro rehabilitation.
For 3 years, I served as the Research Coordinator for the Sensory Integration and Processing Special Interest Section in AOTA, and I am currently serving my second year as the Research Coordinator for the Developmental Disabilities Special Interest Section in AOTA. Additionally, I am a member of the AOTA Transitions CoP, an AOTPAC Ambassador, and a member of the Ohio Occupational Therapy Association.
My interest areas in occupational therapy include: transition to work programs and supporting employment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, adapted sports and engagement in sports and physical activity for individuals with disabilities, sensory integration and implementation of sensory interventions in the school setting, access to nature for individuals with disabilities, service learning and its role in understanding social determinants of health, and sustainable community-based interventions/programs to support public health for marginalized populations. |
