Brief Bio:
Wendy A. Bilgen, Ph.D., LISW-S, currently Assistant Lecturer.
Over the last 30 years her professional and research interests have aligned with her life
purpose exploring and developing narrative practices through diverse forms of inquiry.

Interrogating stories and experiences at the intersection of identity, culture, and spirituality focus her activities as an edge-walking practitioner, dividing time between teaching, counseling, speaking, research, and writing in the United States and Turkey. She
continues to be drawn to trauma-informed research and practice and sees
autoethnography as an integrating and innovative mode of engagement that is
meaningful, healing, creative, practical, accessible, and transformative, all of which she
hopes to bring into her interdisciplinary work as educator, therapist, and social worker.

Through her work she hopes that voices normally held at the margins of society would
be stimulated to speak new wisdom and knowledge into all levels of society in order to
catalyze social innovation and healing in individuals, organizations, communities, and
societies around the globe.
