Brief Bio:
Lori Lundeen-Smith, M.S., CCC-SLP, MT-BC, Assistant Professor of Practice and Clinical Manager for the CSU Music Therapy Program, previously served as a program administrator, clinical supervisor/manager, clinical music therapist, and music therapy supervisor/internship director for over 30 years within the Center for Music Therapy at The Music Settlement in Cleveland.  She is also a licensed speech-language pathologist in the state of Ohio, and was employed at Western Reserve Speech and Language Partners in Chardon, Ohio.  

Professor Lundeen-Smith's interests as an educator focus upon the supervision and training of pre-professional and professional music therapists in educational, medical, and community-based settings with an emphasis upon successful collaboration and co-treatment with other healthcare professionals.  Her extensive clinical work with clients and patients of all ages experiencing a wide variety of life challenges in diverse settings, as well as her track record in developing effective music therapy programming with community partners, are foundational to her work as Clinical Manager for the CSU Music Therapy Program.   Professor Lundeen-Smith's clinical research and professional writing interests as a dually certified music therapist and speech-language pathologist revolve around evidence-based treatment for individuals diagnosed with ASD, communication delays and disorders, and behavioral disorders.  She is a frequent conference speaker and consultant, and is also a published author.  

Professor Lundeen-Smith is currently serving the profession of music therapy as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Certification Board for Music Therapists, the only organization responsible for certification and recertification of music therapists nationally.
