Brief Bio: |
| Madalynn Wendland, PhD, PT, DPT, ATP, Board-certified pediatric clinical specialist received her bachelors of science in physical therapy from the Ohio State University, post-professional doctorate from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and PhD from Youngstown State University. As Associate Clinical Faculty in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Cleveland State University she teaches content related to pediatric neuromotor conditions, interprofessional team-based practice, and has also helped to supervise students who are engaged in clinical education. Her research interests involve the use of developmental assessments to identify children at risk for neuromotor delays and implementation of early, targeted interventions including the use of low-cost technologies for children with mobility and sensory impairments to maximize participation and optimize long-term outcomes. |

| DPT 786 Applied PT II (5 credits)
Course instructor for the the second formal clinical education course within the curriculum. It is an eight-week, full time clinical experience scheduled during the first half of DPT III spring semester at selected clinical education facilities.
DPT 788 Applied PT III (5 credits)
Course instructor for the third formal clinical education course in the curriculum. It is an eight-week full time clinical experience scheduled during the final eight weeks of DPT III spring semester at selected clinical sites.
DPT 638 Life Span Development (4 credits)
Course coordinator and instructor of pediatric content regarding the physical, psychological, and sociological development of the individual, as it relates to health.
DPT 776 Complex Conditions V (3 credits)
Co-course coordinator for the fifth of the complex condition courses, which concentrates on single or multisystem pathophysiology, which may occur following an insult, a disabling injury or illness to the neurologic system. Examination, evaluation, and therapeutic management of various conditions will be featured, with emphasis on pediatric diagnoses.
HSC 624/5 Interprofessional Healthcare Teams Seminar I and II (1 credit)
This is a series of two seminar courses emphasizing a team approach to healthcare delivery. Experiential-based opportunities will address concepts of values and ethics, roles and responsibilities, interprofessional communication, teams and teamwork, referrals, and leadership development for capacity building while emphasizing patient/population- centered care. |
