Brief Bio:
I studied math as an undergraduate at the University of Chicago where I was also involved in the Math Club and the Physical Sciences Student Advisory Committee. I received my Ph.D from Cornell University where my advisor was Mike Stillman. Then I was a postdoc at Texas A&M University under Hal Schenck. Now I am an associate professor and associate chair at Cleveland State University.

As associate chair I am responsible for all faculty advising of math majors, math minors, and stats minors.  Please make an appointment via Starfish if you need to see me.  If you have questions about adding one of these degrees to your academic plan or about transfer credit or prerequisites for math courses, please email me to set an appointment.

I am also the advisor for the CSU Math Club. See http://www.csuohio.edu/mathclub for more information.

Research Interests:
My research is in commutative algebra, in particular properties of minimal free resolutions over polynomial rings. Recently I have become interested in relations between commutative algebra and coding theory as well as commutative algebra and rational homotopy theory.
