Research Interests: |
| Dr. Dong's research areas are in control systems and control applications, application-oriented printed electronics, and engineering education. She has successfully applied robust and/or adaptive control technology to Micro-electro-mechanical Systems (MEMS), energy storage systems, power systems, cargo ships, automobile systems, pneumatic actuating systems, and so on. She is particularly interested in combining advanced control methods with traditional PID controller to solve the control problems associated with MEMS devices and electro-mechanical servo systems. These control problems include, but are not limited to, noise reduction, disturbance rejection, and compensation of mechanical imperfections. In addition, Dr. Dong started the research on conformal electronics at CSU in 2016. She has collaborated with local companies and academic institutes on electronically printed sensors and antennas. The collaborations have yielded funded interdisciplinary research and learning opportunities for CSU faculty and students. Dr. Dong is also a Co-PI of a research project funded by NSF ADVANCE program. The NSF ADVANCE project contributes to CSU's ongoing efforts to achieve gender equity among STEM faculty and helps to enhance engineering education. |
