Brief Bio:
Dr. McIntyre is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy within the College of Health and a member of the Graduate Faculty. She also serves as the Director of Clinical Education (DCE) for the department, a role she has held since 2011. Her primary areas of teaching include clinical education, professional issues, and management of patients with multi-system dysfunction in the acute hospital setting. Dr. McIntyre has been licensed as a physical therapist since 2000, and her primary clinical expertise includes the evaluation and treatment of individuals across the lifespan in the acute care hospital environment (including the adult and pediatric intensive care units and the neonatal ICU). She has also spent some time in outpatient working with pediatric and adult clients.

Professionally, Dr. McIntyre is involved at the state and national level in various initiatives related to clinical education and professional regulation. She has served as a Credentialed Trainer for the APTA's Level 1 Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program (CCIP) since 2012 and is active with the Ohio-Kentucky Consortium of Physical Therapy Programs as Secretary. She is currently Chair of the PT Section of the Ohio Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Athletic Trainers (OTPTAT) Board and involved at the national level with work through the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy and the Physical Therapy Compact Commission.  

Dr. McIntyre's research interests focus on the scholarship of teaching and learning, including understanding the student experience and investigation of innovative educational methods & clinical education processes.
